PowerPoint documents can be so much more than just a slideshow. By choosing different format types under the Save As option, you can change the function of your PowerPoint document!

 Choose the format you want, name your file, and save it. Now, your PowerPoint document has a new life as something different!

PowerPoint Hack: How to Reuse Slides

Did you know that you can reuse slides from PowerPoint documents you've already created? Here's a quick tutorial to show you how!

First, open the document you want to add the already created slides to and follow the directions below:

*These screen images are from PowerPoint 2010. If you have a different version, your screen will look different, but the steps should be similar.

A Quick Tip: Take a Break!

After a crazy week of end of the year activities, a flat tire, a sick cat, counting Box Tops and Labels for Education labels for my daughter's school, and goody bag failures, I decided I needed to take my own advice and take a break. Since my kids are home from school, I can't take a complete break. However, I've decided to spend less time on the computer this week and do something I really enjoy: quilting.

During the last few years, my quilting has taken a backseat to my TpT store. I only have so much "free" time and I've been spending most it in front of my desktop computer. I have several UFOs (UnFinished Objects i.e. quilts), but our neighbor is having a baby soon and for months, I've been meaning to make a baby quilt.

 My goal this week is to get the quilt top made and the batting and backing safety pinned together so I can quilt it next week.

I'm doing a very simple quilt. I have a yard of a really cute road pattern and I will border the fabric with 3 1/2 inch fabric blocks.

I'll report back next week on my progress.

This week, take some time to do something you enjoy. It is amazing how it will re-energize you!

PowerPoint Hack: How to Use the Crop Tool to Make Shapes

 PowerPoint's Format menu gives you lots of awesome options. In today's hack, I want to show you a fun feature of the Crop Tool. To access the cropping tool, you'll need to pull up the Format menu by clicking on your image.

 

Next, find the Crop to Shape Option in the Crop menu:

Pick a Shape and your image will be cropped to fit into that shape:

Viola! You've made a colorful shape. You can alter the shape some more by using the other features in the Crop menu like Aspect Ratio and Fill and Fit.
